Tessa's first day

Today was Tessa's first day of MDO, she was stoked!!! She's been wanting to go since this day. Her class has totally new friends for her and she seemed a little unsure at first until a little girl named Cassidy ran up to her, grabbed her hand and pulled her off to play. They were giggling together in no time and I could leave confident she was happy to be there :) Otherwise I'd have to stay and play too, think they'd rub my back at naptime?

Now my house is quiet...

the case of the missing babies & bears...

has been half solved.

Tessa has a whole entourage of babies and bears that she likes to sleep with and play with, and the entire bunch of them has been missing for a few days. We have searched all over on several different occassions and have come up with nothing. Since they are all missing we figured that she put them all somewhere together to "take a nap" and then forgot where. This morning Tessa's first words to me were a soft and sad "I want my Brownie Bear." Could you please try to break my heart a little bit more?

So off we went around the house to look again. In the kitchen I spotten the wooden potato bin in the corner and remembered Tessa putting a glass of milk in the bottom of it once "for later" (thankfully I noticed the milk was missing right away). WHY I hadn't looked there yet, I don't know considering some of the strange places I have looked! So I opened the potato bin and was delighted to find--- just some of her bears and babies. We did find Brownie Bear in there (thank goodness!) but we're still missing another important baby and her froggie. I'm thinking they're off together somewhere (at least they're not alone :D ) "sleeping". We'll keep looking and hopefully the case will soon be closed.

a wise little girl

Tessa: Where's the van?
Me: It's broken, we took it to the store to get it fixed.
Tessa: We just need some sticky tape. That'll fix it.

***side note: "sticky tape" is what Dora uses to fix things. This is where she gets her wisdom. *snicker*

"fashionista picasso"

This was Tessa's outfit today. All day. Even to pick up the boys from school, both times. Even to the post office. Today she was struttin' her stuff and I'm still a bit shocked that I let her out in public like that, but boy she sure thought she was SO PRETTY.

This is Tessa's first picture of a person that she drew today and then hung on our fridge, she was VERY proud of herself. See the freaky eyes with no pupils? All of my kids drew eyes like that, did yours?

I met a Silly Wagon!!!

Yesturday Ryan and I got up at 6 am (okay I got up at 6 am, he got up at 6:55, we were leaving at 7!!!) and drove on down to the Dallas Market Place for our first market and to check out the whole "scene". It was so HUGE, you can just see a little piece of the building in this picture! We went straight to our showroom to see how the jewels were displayed, and then had fun just walking around and looking at all of the other showrooms. I was amazed at all of the amazing merchandise that was there and fell in love with a few diaper bags (I LOVE bags). While we were walking around I got a call from WHITNEY, one of the owners of The Silly Wagon!!!

We met up with her and Vered, the other owner. The reason this is so amazing? Whitney lives in ISRAEL! They came to the states to see their showroom and come to the market. Whitney and I have chatted via instant message on our gmail accounts for MONTHS and have become good friends, it was soooo nice to finally get to really meet her. She is so nice and hugged me like a long lost friend right away!

After leaving the Market Place my wonderful husband stopped by the outlet mall and I shopped for a bit, then we grabbed a bite to eat, drove back into town and after confirming all was well with my parents (who were so nice to babysit the kids for the day) we decided to go to a late movie. So it was a FULL day, but a fabulous one. Ryan and I haven't had a day to ourselves in a VERY long time, it was nice to get caught up with each other again :)

a HUGE thanks and some amazing fabrics

There's a new fabric designer that just debuted, Joel Dewberry, who has recently come out with 3 new lines of fabrics for Westminister. They are all amazing, when I first saw them for sale online I knew I'd be ordering a bunch...which I did! I made a fabric bracelet from Joel's "Manzanita" line (it's my favorite!) and sent him pictures so he could see a unique way for his beautiful fabrics to be worn. That bracelet can now be seen on the Joel Dewberry website in the "Fresh Ideas" section! Thanks to Joel for featuring the bracelet!

I've also been gearing up with 51 of eBay's finest designers for a Joel Dewberry launch, tiltled "Indelible" that premieres Next Thursday, August 23rd (see the awesome banner on the right for it?) Here are a few sneak peeks:

first day of school

This sign made me smile, they always have something goofy up there!

These boys should be models, look at that pose! *snicker*

I had to laugh a bit while getting Jonah dressed for school today because it's part of the "uniforms" to wear a belt. I think Jonah has been wanting to wear his own belt since he could walk and has worn one of Daddy's or Caleb's on many days, usually on sideways or backwards. So today was his big belt debut, and he was stoked!

Outside of Jonah's class are their cubbies and as I hung up his backback in the one with his name on it some big tears welled up in my eyes. Mixed emotions of sadness that he's so grown up and yet excitement for him for being so grown up (do all kids want to be all grown up?) and will love school. His cousin and several of his friends are in his half-day kindergarten class. The oh-so-smart teacher had Jonah and his cousin assigned on opposite sides of the room :)

Caleb's class had many familiar faces in it also and we're so excited for the teacher that he got!

After we dropped the boys off and got into the van, Tessa said "what about my class?" She was disappointed that she wasn't going to school too. She starts Mother's Day Out once a week in 2 weeks, so she and went shopping and bought her a Dora backpack for when she goes to school. (I got a new cute purse, also, but this post is about the kids!) This made it all better...for now!

We had a great summer, now here's to a fabulous year!!!

Taking full advantage...

...of eBay's free insertion fee day! When I got the email last night (they always seem to just spring it on us, don't they?) I decided I HAD to suck it up and LIST-- at least some of my kids outgrown clothes. It's such a time consuming process *groan* Here's some of what I accomplished today:

I only got girl stuff up today, and the sizes range from 6-12 months up to 2T. It makes me sad to see some of these go, but it's time for them to have new homes! I have 2 buckets of boys stuff still to go through, wonder if I'll ever get to them...?

To take a peek at the auctions click here.

a Mistaken Identity & Wives

Tessa loves to pretend, and everyday she has a new identity. She claims to be all sorts of people and things from Dora and a baby to different animals- especially Baby Jaguar (any Diego fans out there?) Then she insist on being called that name, and no longer answers to her real name. For example, if she decides she's "the Mommy" (one of her most common aliases) then she simply tells me "Mommy, I'm the Mommy and you're the Sister." I say okay, and then a few minutes later I may ask her "Tessa are you hungry?" Silence. "Tessa? Want a snack?" She continues with whatever she's doing. "Tessa!" She gets exasperated with me for not remembering and proclaims "I'm NOT Tessa, I'm the Mommy!" This could go on all day and she switches her title frequently throughout the day, some days it's hard to keep up and I have to ask her "now who are you again?".

The boys have been talking alot about their future wives lately. At church one night while all of the kids were playing 4 year old Jonah stood on the sidelines just looking at everyone. When the teacher asked him what was wrong he replied "I'm just trying to figure out which girl I will marry when I grow up". He told me that he wants 4 kids, the baby boys will cry but the girls won't, and that his wife's job will be to give him lots of kisses everyday. There's a girl named Olivia I have yet to meet, but seems he has some hopes of marrying her, she's brought up often.

One day we were leaving school and Caleb (who was 5 at the time) says "see that girl? She's gonna be my wife someday." He did this on 2 seperate occasions, once with me and once with his Grandma. I made a mental note of this girl because, simply, what if? Wouldn't it be such a sweet story to tell someday?!

We have already begun praying for the kids future spouses, we figure it's never too early for something so important.

Tiger Sighting

The PGA tournament is in town this week and Ryan scored some tickets. Today he shared his tickets with our 6 year old Caleb. A month or so ago Ryan bought the boys the "Tiger Woods Golf" gamecube game, and they've watched Tiger on tv a few times, so Caleb was THRILLED to get to see the real Tiger so up close! He came home and told me all about it giving me a play by play of Tiger's shots. Caleb has decided he should practice and get really good at golf and let Daddy be his caddy.

Fine with me :)

~a new look and some butterflies~

This is my new logo, what do you think? I love it! Our friend Daniel made it for me, thank you Daniel!

I've been busy getting ready for a new upcoming project, I've been offered a spot in a market show! The next market show is next weekend, so I've been making some new and some familiar favorite samples to ship down there, and then Ryan and I are going down to look at the jewelry being displayed and hopefully shop around. It's a great opportunity, but it has been ALOT of extra work and quite frankly I am pretty nervous about it all :) Daniel has been a HUGE lifesave making me new logos, brochures, etc. I'll post pics after the show next weekend :)

In the meantime, I found these sterling pendants again!!! So I listed this Sterling Faith necklace here.

the face of a Celebrity...sort of

I couldn't resist, I had to try this out and I am oh so flattered and wish it were true! I mean, really, Rachel McAdams is from my all time favorite movie "The Notebook", who wouldn't want to look like her?

I actually don't see any resemblance in any of them!!!

One that I chose not to post- BILLY CRYSTAL!!! Yes, it said I resembled Billy Crystal. Maybe I need to shave...

cuddle time

This is how I found the kids this morning, all cuddled together in Jonah's bed laughing and giggling, makes my mommy heart melt :)

the digi-bug

I caught the bug, the digital scrapbooking bug. I have been playing with the new header for HOURS it seems like, and it's still not "just right". But I'm happy with it for now, I was really ready for a blog makeover, I get so bored with my graphics so quickly! I have other things to do...my Amy Butler "Nigella" fabrics arrived today and I can't wait to play with them :)
